John Cosby 
John was born on September 19th, 1741 in Hanover Co., VA. John's father was David Cosby and his mother was Mary Garland Overton. His paternal grandfather was Charles Cosby and his paternal grandmother is Jane Meriwether; his maternal grandparents were James Overton and Elizabeth Garland. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Charles, David, William, James, Overton, Elisabeth, Mary, Barbara Overton and Nancy Ann Overton. He was the fourth youngest of the ten children. He died at the age of 86 in 1827 in Frederickstown, Washington Co., KY.General Notes

Overton was born on October 14th, 1772 in Hanover Co., VA. He died at the age of 42 on March 13th, 1815 in Wounds from Battle of New Orleans.
