Overton Cosby 
Overton was born on October 14th, 1772 in Hanover Co., VA. Overton's father was John Cosby and his mother was Susannah Wingfield. His paternal grandparents were David Cosby and Mary Garland Overton; his maternal grandfather was Thomas II Wingfield and his maternal grandmother is Sarah Garland. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Joseph, Dabney Carr, Frances, Louisiana and Jane. He was the third oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 42 on March 13th, 1815 in Wounds from Battle of New Orleans.General Notes
