Her paternal grandfather was Count Theobald ("the Cheat") de Tours I of Chartres and her paternal grandmother is Richilde de Bourges; her maternal grandparents were Count Herbert II of Vermandois and Princess Adela of France. She had a brother and a sister, named Odo and Hildegarde. She is the youngest of the three children.-
