Ethelswida was born about 0877 in Wessex, England.  Ethelswida's father was King Alfred ("the Great") of Wessex and her mother was Queen Ealhswith of the Gaini.  Her paternal grandparents were King Ethelwulf of England and Queen Osburh of Isle of Wight; her maternal grandfather was Ethelred ("Mucil") Eald of the Gaini and her maternal grandmother is Eadburh Fadburn of the Royal House of Mercia. She had three brothers and a sister, named "the Elder", Athelstan, Edward and Ethelfleda.  She died on June 7th, 0929 in Flanders, Nord, France.


Ethelswida's family with Count Baldwin ("the Bald") II of Flanders

‌Ethelswida and "the Bald" were married in a religious ceremony in 0888.  They had two sons named Adeluf and "the Great".
