The Lestrange family became barons of Knokyn, Salop (Shropshire), England. John Lestrange V was summoned to Parliament, Sept 26, 1299 and became Lord Strange. John Lestrange V was named in writs as John Lestraunge de Knokyn. In a letter to the Pope he was described as Johannes Lestraunge dominus de Knokyn or Johannes le Straungge.
