Hugh  Keveliok (3Rd Earl) was born in 1147 in Keveliok, Merionethshire, Wales and his baptism took place in of Cyfeiliog.1   Hugh  Keveliok (3Rd Earl)'s father was Ranulph de Gernon 2nd Earl of Chester, Vicomte d'Avranches and his mother was Maud Fitzrobert De Gloucester.  His paternal grandparents were Ranulph III de Meschines 3rd Earl of Chester, Viscount Bayeux and Countess Lucia Taillebois Countess of Chester; his maternal grandparents were Robert  De Caen Earl De Gloucester and Maud  Fitz Hamon. He had a brother and four sisters, named Richard de, Maud, Alice de, Johanna de and Beatrice De.  He was the youngest of the six children.  He died at the age of 34 on June 30th, 1181 in Leek, Staffordshire, England.  He was buried in 1181 in Chester, Cheshire, England.1

‌Hugh  Keveliok (3Rd Earl) and Bertrade d'Evreux were married in a religious ceremony in 1169 in Montford, Normandy, France.2   They had a son and twelve daughters, named Ranulph de, Helga De, Tanghurst, Amica De, Beatrix de, Beatrix de, Maud (Of Chester) de, Mabel, Amicia de, Hawise de, Hawise De, Agnes De and Maud Keveliok.
