Roger de was born about 1183 in Barrow, Leicester, England and his baptism took place in of Sedgley,,Stafford,England.  Roger de's father was Sir Ralph de Somery Lord Dudley and his mother was Margaret Marshall.  His paternal grandparents were John de Somery Lord of Dudley and Hawise de Paynell; his maternal grandparents were John  (1St Baron) Marshall and Sibyl Devereux. He had two brothers and a sister, named Ralph de, William Perceval and Joan De.  He was the second oldest of the four children.  He died about August 26th, 1273 in of Dudley Castle,West Midlands, England.
