Hilous Basham 
Hilous was born on November 12th, 1884 in Hancock Co., Kentucky.1 Hilous' father was Jeremiah Henderson Basham and his mother was Sarah Ellen Higgs. His paternal grandparents were Cary Jackson 'Jack' Basham and Annis Warner; his maternal grandparents were Alfred Higgs and Sarah Jane Calloway. He had ten brothers and six sisters, named Finous, Harvey, Benjamin Harrison (Ben), Eugene C (Gene), Eulace, Edward Otis, Ruthford, Flora, Chester, Harold, Bertha S., Pearl, Carrie, Essie, Anna Lee and Clara Louise. He was the fourth oldest of the seventeen children. He had a half-sister named Mary Jane. He died at the age of 100 on August 9th, 1985 in Madisonvile, Hopkins Co., Ky.1 General Notes
