Carrie Basham 
Carrie was born on January 24th, 1890 in Hancock Co., Kentucky.1 Carrie's father was Jeremiah Henderson Basham and her mother was Sarah Ellen Higgs. Her paternal grandparents were Cary Jackson 'Jack' Basham and Annis Warner; her maternal grandparents were Alfred Higgs and Sarah Jane Calloway. She had eleven brothers and five sisters, named Finous, Harvey, Hilous, Benjamin Harrison (Ben), Eugene C (Gene), Eulace, Edward Otis, Ruthford, Flora, Chester, Harold, Bertha S., Pearl, Essie, Anna Lee and Clara Louise. She was the seventh oldest of the seventeen children. She had a half-sister named Mary Jane. She died at the age of 91 on May 9th, 1981 in Evansville, Vanderburgh Co., Ind.1 General Notes
