Chester Basham 
Chester was born on January 29th, 1903 in Hancock Co., Kentucky.1 Chester's father was Jeremiah Henderson Basham and his mother was Sarah Ellen Higgs. His paternal grandparents were Cary Jackson 'Jack' Basham and Annis Warner; his maternal grandparents were Alfred Higgs and Sarah Jane Calloway. He had ten brothers and six sisters, named Finous, Harvey, Hilous, Benjamin Harrison (Ben), Eugene C (Gene), Eulace, Edward Otis, Ruthford, Flora, Harold, Bertha S., Pearl, Carrie, Essie, Anna Lee and Clara Louise. He was the third youngest of the seventeen children. He had a half-sister named Mary Jane. He died at the age of 50 on May 30th, 1953 in Evansville, Vanderburgh Co., Ind.1 General Notes
