Sarah E. was born about 1842 in Virginia (Prob Greene County).1 Sarah E.'s father is Joel Meadows and her mother is Elizabeth Breeding. Her paternal grandparents were John Meadows and Mary Harness. She had three brothers and eight sisters, named Jeremiah Maxwell, John Wesley, Elijah Steward, Synda Ann, Mary Frances, Rebecca Jane, Susanna Eliza, Martha Susan, Nancy W., Matilda Catherine and Harriet Eliza.
