Matilda Catherine was born on April 18th, 1857 in Greene Co., Virginia.1 Matilda Catherine's father is Joel Meadows and her mother is Elizabeth Breeding. Her paternal grandparents were John Meadows and Mary Harness. She had three brothers and eight sisters, named Jeremiah Maxwell, John Wesley, Elijah Steward, Synda Ann, Sarah E., Mary Frances, Rebecca Jane, Susanna Eliza, Martha Susan, Nancy W. and Harriet Eliza. She was the second youngest of the twelve children. She died at the age of 67 in 1924 in Keezletown, Rockingham Co., Virginia. She was buried in Keezletown Cemetery, Keezletown, Rockingham, Virginia.1 1 -
