Kesiah Meadows 
Kesiah was born in 1815 in Monroe Co., Virginia.1 Kesiah's father was John Meadows and her mother was Elizabeth Wyant. Her paternal grandparents were FRANCIS M. Meadows and MARY Kesiah Bell. She had eight brothers and four sisters, named Phillip, John, James J., Peter, Emanuel, Samuel P., Henderson Ward, Christopher Parkerson, Elizabeth, Nancy, Sarah and Catherine. She was the third oldest of the thirteen children. She died before 1920 in Monroe Co., West Virginia.1 General Notes

Though we don't know much about Kisiah (even the surname we've given her is presumptive) we do know that she was the mother of at least two of John Cales' children and, presumably , of Jackson Cales. (No birth reocrd has been found.)
Her given name seems to have been variously spelled, Kisiah, Kiziah, Kesiah, and Keziah. The name Kesiah does occur earlier in the Meadows family. There are numerous instances in which the Cales and Meadows surnames interact. This may require a separate genealogical study.
We wonder about Kisiah after John left in 1841 or 1842, possibly with her own sister. We also wonder what became of the infant she held (according to Jacjosn's story) while beseeching John to stay. She appears in her father's will in 1848 as "Kiziah the wife of John Cales" and in the 1850 census, living with her mother in Greenbrier County.
She apparently gave birth to two other children, Mary Cales in 1845 and William Cales #2 in 1847. We conclude the father was other than John, since he had been living in Indiana (two states away) for at least three years.
Some Cales genealogists have tended to confuse her with Catherine Meadows and Elizabeth Darroughs, the other two of John' s "wives", believing there was only one person, using three names. But, the 1850 census shows Kisiah in Giles County, Virginia with her mother and Catherine in Indiana with John.
Though John, claimed another as his wife, there is no indication that John and Kisiah were formally divorced, which seems ulikely due to the expense and procedures required.

Kesiah and John were married in a religious ceremony on November 14th, 1833 in Monroe Co., Virginia.1 They had two sons, and also a child of unknown gender named Parkison, Andrew Jackson and ?.

It's unclear whether John and Kisiah officially divorced. He did leave her in M onroe County, (now West) Virignia and went to Blackford County, Indiana with an other woman, Catherine Meadows, who may have been his mother's sister.
By th e 180 census, a Catherine is shown as his wife and they have five children tog ether.

Parkison was born on May 4th, 1832 in Monroe Co., Virginia.1 He died at the age of 61 on July 1st, 1893.1
Andrew Jackson Cales
Andrew Jackson was born on February 9th, 1836 in Monroe Co., Virginia.1 He died at the age of 90 on November 26th, 1926 in Winfield, Cowley Co., Kansas. He was buried in Salem Cemetery, Cowley Co., Kansas.1 1
