Pierre Couvillon 
Pierre was born on March 23rd, 1826 in Te Bardo, Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana.1 Pierre's father was Pierre Couvillon and his mother was Marionette Marie Mayeux. His paternal grandparents were PIERRE Couvillon and *BRIGETTE Mayeux; his maternal grandparents were PIERRE Mayeux and MARIANNE Bordelon. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Baptiste, Gregoire Horatio, Luc, Olivier, Augustin Pierre, Adrienne Arsene, Rose, Olive and Edvise. He had two half-brothers named Hypolite and Emile. He died at the age of 36 on February 6th, 1863 in Camp Douglas Prisoner Camp, Illinois. He was buried in (presumably) Federal Veterans' Cemetery, Douglas, Illinois.1 1 General Notes

"Enlisted (in the Confederate Army) on 4 December 1861, was assigned to Company G, 1st Louisiana Cavalry and was immediately dispatched in the Avoyelles area in anticipation of the enemy... he was commissioned a 2nd Sergent on 4 June 1863...registered as a POW at Camp Chase in Ohio on 12 August 1863... transfered to Camp Douglas where he died."
