Cyrius Couvillon 
Cyrius was born on January 27th, 1863 in nr Cottonport, Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana.1 Cyrius' father was Pierre Couvillon and his mother was Eliza Coco. His paternal grandparents were Pierre Couvillon and Marionette Marie Mayeux. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Pierre Aurelian, Blanchard, Eugenia, Louisa and Aurelia. "Cyrius Couvillon died of a self-inflicted wound by shooting himself with a 22 rifle -- the bullet entering his left temple. There were some evidences (sic) that he had used a stick to set off the trigger. He was found by Mr. Victor Tauzen at about 1:20 p.m. lying dead across his bed on October 19, 1940. It is estimated that he had shot himself at about 12:30, a short while before he was found." Avoyelles Parish Coronor's report.
