George C. was born about 1794 in Wythe Co., Virginia.1 George C.'s father was John Payton Bailey and his mother was Nancy W. Davidson. His paternal grandparents were RICHARD Patton Bailey and ELIZABETH Anne Belcher. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Jonathan, James M., Archibald, Masten, Martha and Rebecca. He was the fourth oldest of the seven children. He died on January 19th, 1866 in McDowell Co., West Virginia. He was buried in Rock Cemetary, Mercer Co., West Virginia.1 1 -
