Rueben Butler 
Rueben was born about 1790 in North Carolina. Rueben's father was Thomas "Elias" Butler and his mother was Sarah Thompson. His paternal grandparents were Christopher John Butler and Mary Catherine Martin. He had five brothers and five sisters, named John Franklin, Neely, Joshua Daniel, Elias F, James Martin, Elizabeth, Judith, Sarah, Mary C. and Judah. He is the oldest of the eleven children. He had five half-brothers named Rueben, John, James M, Elias H and Johnatan Nealy.-
