James Martin Butler 
James Martin was born on July 14th, 1824 in North Carolina. James Martin's father was Thomas "Elias" Butler and his mother was Sarah Thompson. His paternal grandparents were Christopher John Butler and Mary Catherine Martin. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Rueben, John Franklin, Neely, Joshua Daniel, Elias F, Elizabeth, Judith, Sarah, Mary C. and Judah. He is the youngest of the eleven children. He had five half-brothers named Rueben, John, James M, Elias H and Johnatan Nealy.-
