Janna Christina Evert was born on February 13th, 1840 in Driever, Ostfriesland, Germany and her baptism took place on February 23rd, 1840.1   Janna Christina Evert's father was Evert Berends Hennings and her mother was Hilke Ontjes Van Mark.  Her paternal grandparents were Beene Everts Hennings and Jantie Janna Filips; her maternal grandparents were Ontje Abben Van Mark and Mechel Geerds. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Evert Abbe, Beene, Ontje Everts, Mechellina, Mechellina and Beenetta.  She was the third youngest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 79 on February 1st, 1920 in Emery, Hanson, South Dakota, USA.  She was buried in Emery Community Cemetery - Emery, Hanson County, South Dakota.1 1

‌Janna Christina Evert and Dirk Gerdes were married in a religious ceremony on May 7th, 1862 in Driever, Ostfriesland, Germany.1   They had six sons and three daughters, named Geerd Dirks (George), Evert, Abbe, Dirk, Dick, Harm, Hilka, Gesi "Mary" and Jannetta "Nettie".
