Hilka was born on December 3rd, 1864 in Ihrhove, Ostfriesland, Germany.1   Hilka's father was Dirk Gerdes Lübberts and her mother was Janna Christina Evert Hennings.  Her paternal grandparents were Geerd Hinderks Lübberts and Geeske Harms (Sinnen) Sinning; her maternal grandparents were Evert Berends Hennings and Hilke Ontjes Van Mark. She had six brothers and two sisters, named Geerd Dirks (George), Evert, Abbe, Dirk, Dick, Harm, Gesi "Mary" and Jannetta "Nettie".  She was the second oldest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 66 on May 16th, 1931 in Emery, McCook County, South Dakota, USA.1 


Hilka's family with Henry J. Fluth

‌Hilka and Henry J. were married in a religious ceremony on August 20th, 1890 in Emery, McCook County, South Dakota, USA.1   They had five sons and three daughters, named Dirk, Jacob, John H., Herman, Henry George, Della, Jennie Christina and Clara.
