Robert I "The Bruce" King Of was born on July 11th, 1274 in Writtle,Near Chelmsford,Essex,England.  Robert I "The Bruce" King Of's father was Robert de Brus Earl of Carrick and his mother was Margaret of Carrick Countess Carrick.  His paternal grandparents were Robert "The Competitor" Brus Lord of Annandale and Isabel de Clare; his maternal grandparents were Neil of Carrick Earl of Carrick and Margaret Stewart. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Edward Earl, Nigel (Neil), Thomas, Alexander, Isabel, Christina, Mary, Maud (Matilda) (Mary), Elizabeth and Margery.  He was the third oldest of the eleven children.  He died at the age of 54 on June 7th, 1329 in ,Cardross,Dunbartonshire,Scotland.  He was buried in Abbey Church,Dunfermline,Fifeshire,Scotland.
