He had four brothers and six sisters, named Edward Earl, Nigel (Neil), Thomas, Alexander, Isabel, Christina, Mary, Maud (Matilda) (Mary), Elizabeth and Margery. He was the third oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 54 on June 7th, 1329 in ,Cardross,Dunbartonshire,Scotland.
