Robert "The Competitor" was born in 1210 in of Annandale,Dumfriesshire,Scotland and his baptism took place about May 8th, 1295.  Robert "The Competitor"'s father was Robert de Bruce Baron and his mother was Isabelle Huntingdon.  His paternal grandparents were William de Bruce Baron of Annandale and Mrs Christine de Bruce; his maternal grandparents were David Canmore Ist Earl of Huntingdon and Matilda de Keveliock. He had two brothers and a sister, named Bernard, Richard and Beatrice.  He was the second oldest of the four children.  He died at the age of 85 on May 31st, 1295 in Priory,Lochmaben,Dumfriesshire,Scotland.  He was buried on April 17th, 1295 in Priory,Guisburn,Yorkshire,England.
