Matilda (Maud) of was born in 1072 in Huntington,Hunts,England.  Matilda (Maud) of's father was Waltheof II Earl of Northumbria and her mother was Judith de Lens Countess of Boulogne.  Her paternal grandparents were Siward Bjornsson Earl of Northumbria and AEfflaed of Bernicia; her maternal grandparents were Lambert Boulogne Count of Leus and Adelaide Normandy. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Waltheof of, Uchtred Fitz Waldeve, Eadulph Cudel of, Alice, daughter of and Judith (Alice). She had a half-brother named William.  She died at the age of 59 on April 23rd, 1131 in Scone,Perths,Scotland.

‌Matilda (Maud) of and Simon de St. Liz Earl of were married in a religious ceremony in 1090.  They had two sons and two daughters, named St. Waltheof of Melrose, Simon II de St. Liz, Maud and Isabel De.
