Isabel was born about 1272 in of Carrick,Argyllshire,Scotland.  Isabel's father was Robert de Brus Earl of Carrick and her mother was Margaret of Carrick Countess Carrick.  Her paternal grandparents were Robert "The Competitor" Brus Lord of Annandale and Isabel de Clare; her maternal grandparents were Neil of Carrick Earl of Carrick and Margaret Stewart. She had five brothers and five sisters, named Robert I "The Bruce" King Of, Edward Earl, Nigel (Neil), Thomas, Alexander, Christina, Mary, Maud (Matilda) (Mary), Elizabeth and Margery.  She was the oldest of the eleven children.  She died in 1358.
