His paternal grandparents were Charles Harton Morgan and Frances Jane Spradley. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Manley L., Charles Frank, Harley T., Sr., David Dudley R., C. J., John David, Eva Ailene and Sula Celestine. He was the fourth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 45 on March 27th, 1933 in Crenshaw Co., AL.
