Bloyce was born on April 10th, 1925 in Sylacauga, Talledega Co., AL.1 Bloyce's father was Vesta Miller and his mother was Allison Lorene Bazemore. His paternal grandparents were John Thomas Miller and Mary Virginia Smith; his maternal grandparents were Harvey Bazemore and Etta (?). He had a brother and two sisters, named Vesta, Jr., Helen and Dorthy Dean. He was the second youngest of the four children.
