Carl William was born on March 25th, 1903 in Coosa Co., AL.1 Carl William's father was Jepe Kirkham McEwen and his mother was Malissa Jane Bazemore. His paternal grandparents were Francis Marion McEwen and Lena Olive Ransome Melton; his maternal grandparents were William Thomas Jefferson, Jr. Bazemore and Eliza Ann Veasey. He had two brothers and six sisters, named Marion Jack, Charles Kirkham, Sadie Lee, Ettie Pricilla, Robbie Oresta, Annie Olive, Lilla M. and Edna Gertrude. He was the second youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 74 on June 8th, 1977 in Sylacauga, Talladega Co., AL. He was buried in Weogufka Baptist Church Cemetery, Coosa Co., AL.1 1 -
