James Alexander Martin 
James Alexander was born on May 26th, 1845 in Laurens County, South Carolina.1 James Alexander's father was Glasinguin Martin and his mother was Malinda Garrett. His paternal grandparents were John Garrett Martin and Elizabeth ??; his maternal grandparents were Stephen Garrett and Drucilla Elizabeth Putnam. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Hollingsworth, John M., Milton, Christopher C., Joseph P., Stephen D., Florenthia, Sophia J., Lucinda E. and Sally. He was the fifth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 74 on November 12th, 1919 in Waller, Texas.1 -
