James Madison was born on March 10th, 1824 in GA.1 James Madison's father was Wiley W. Buckner and his mother was Judith Tapley Handley. His paternal grandparents were John H. Buckner and Mary M. Brown. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Micajah W., Leonard, Tapley M., Edwin H., Elizabeth, Delilah, Tabitha Jane, Catherine S. J., Martha and Mary B.. He was the second youngest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 39 on August 30th, 1863 in Ft. Jackson, Savannah, GA.. He was buried in Ft. Jackson, Savannah, GA..1 1 General Notes
