Mattie Easter was born on June 4th, 1861.1 Mattie Easter's father was Joseph Carson Avent and her mother was Mary Elizabeth Douglas. Her paternal grandparents were William B. Avent and Ester Watts Olegg; her maternal grandparents were Silas Douglas and Mary Harrington. She had two brothers and four sisters, named David Carson, Rabon Cottrell, Anne Elizabeth, Mary Watts, Hattie B. and Josephine. She was the third oldest of the seven children. She died at the age of 41 on June 27th, 1902.1 -
