Hatti Stella was born on May 24th, 1892.1 Hatti Stella's father was David Franklin Bell and her mother was Mattie Easter Avent. Her maternal grandparents were Joseph Carson Avent and Mary Elizabeth Douglas. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Fletcher Talmadge, Recho Avent, Ruel Bascom, Addie Leigh, Minnie Ethel, Mattie Della and Annie Lou. She was the third youngest of the eight children.-
