Eleanor was born in Grismond Castle, Monmouth, England.  Eleanor's father was Henry Plantagenet Earl of Lancaster and her mother was Maud de Chaworth.  Her paternal grandparents were Edmund Crouchback Plantagenet Earl Leicester and Blanche Capet de Artois; her maternal grandparents were Sir Patric de Chaworth II Lord Kidwillyin and Isabella de Beauchamp. She had a brother and five sisters, named Henry de Grosment, Blanche, Maude, Joan (Joanna), Isabel and Mary.  She died in Arundel Castle, West Sussex.


Eleanor's first family with Sir John de Beaumont Lord Beaumont

‌Eleanor and Sir John de Beaumont were married in a religious ceremony in June 1337.  They had a son and two daughters, named Henry de Beaumont II, Joan and Matilda (Maud).


Eleanor's second family with Sir Richard Fitzalan II Earl of Arundel

‌Eleanor and Sir Richard Fitzalan II were married in a religious ceremony in Ditton Church, Stoke Poges, Buckingham.  They had three sons and four daughters, named Richard Fitzalan III, Sir John Fitzalan de Arundel, Thomas de Arundel, Joan, Alice, Eleanor and Elizabeth.
