Isabella was born about 1266 in Warwick, Warwickshire, England. Isabella's father was William de Beauchamp Earl of Warwick and her mother was Maud FitzJohn. Her paternal grandparents were William de Beauchamp Baron Beauchamp of Elmley and Isabel de Mauduit; her maternal grandparents were John FitzGeoffrey Lord Kirtling Justiciar and Isabel le Bigod. She had three brothers and six sisters, named Robert, John, Guy de Beauchamp, Sara, Anna, Amy, Margaret, Maud and Matilda. She died before May 30th, 1306 in Elmley Castle, Gloucester.General Notes

According to Burke's Dormant and Extinct Peerages: Hugh Le Despenser the Elder "paid a fine of 2,000 marks to the king, in the 15th of Edward I (1286-1287], for marrying, without license, Isabel, dau. of William de Beauchamp, Earl of Warwick, and widow of Patrick Cheworth; by this lady he had an only son, the too celebrated" Hugh Le Despenser the Younger. Elsewhere in the article it is remarked that Despenser the Elder "was in his ninetieth year" when he was executed upon St. Dennis's Day [October 9], 1326, and that Despenser the Younger was executed upon St. Andrew's Eve [November 29], 1326.[Custer February 1, 2002 Family Tree.FTW]
