Elizabeth was born on December 21st, 1706 in Providence, Providence Co., RI. Elizabeth's father was John Mathewson and her mother was Deliverance Malavery. Her paternal grandparents were James Mathewson and Hannah Field. She had three brothers and three sisters, named John, Daniel, Israel, Lydia, Ann and Jemima.
