Daniel Mathewson 
Daniel was born on March 5th, 1704 in Providence, Providence Co., RI. Daniel's father was John Mathewson and his mother was Deliverance Malavery. His paternal grandparents were James Mathewson and Hannah Field. He had two brothers and four sisters, named John, Israel, Lydia, Elizabeth, Ann and Jemima. He was the third oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 72 on November 15th, 1776 in Johnston, Providence Co., RI.General Notes
Daniel may have married 2nd, Meribah Whipple, if so, possible that Meribah was mother of one of two of the youngest children. Some sites have shown her as mother of all children. I belive this to be an error, but time may prove me wr ong. See notes section of both Lydia and Meribah. --------------------------- ------------------ FOOD FOR THOUGHT Usually when a daughter has the same give n name as a wife (in this case the name LYDIA) we would assume that the wife wa s the mother. In many cases the daughter would be named for her grandmother an d or aunt. POINT TO REMEMBER Lydia was also the name of Meribah's mother an d one of her grandmothers
