Eleanor de Mowbray was born on March 25th, 1364 in of Epworth, Isle of Axholme, Lincolnshire.  Eleanor de Mowbray's father was John de Mowbray III Baron Mowbray and her mother was Elizabeth de Segrave Bss Segrave.  Her paternal grandparents were John de Mowbray II Baron Mowbray and Joan (Joanna) Plantagenet of Lancaster; her maternal grandparents were John de Segrave II Baron Segrave and Margaret Marshall Plantagenet Dss of Norfolk. She had two brothers and four sisters, named John de Mowbray IV, Sir Thomas de Mowbray, Margaret, Jane, Isabel and Joan.  She died after 1444.

‌Eleanor de Mowbray and Sir John de Welles were married in a religious ceremony about May 1384.  They had a son and two daughters, named Eudo, Anne and Eleanor.
