Aliva was born in Bramble or Gower, England.  Aliva's father was William de Braose VII Lord Braose of Gower and her mother was Aliva (Aline) de Multon.  Her paternal grandparents were William de Braose VI Mar de Montferrat and Isabel de Clare; her maternal grandparents were Thomas de Multon III Baron Lucy and Maud de Vaux. She had a brother and a sister, named William and Joan. She had four half-brothers and a half-sister, named Richard, William, Giles, Peter and Margaret.  She died on July 30th, 1331 in Swansea.


Aliva's first family with Sir John de Mowbray Baron Mowbray

‌Aliva and Sir John de Mowbray were married in a religious ceremony in 1298.  They had a son and two daughters, named John de Mowbray II, Christianna and Elizabeth.


Aliva's second family with Richard de Pershell

‌Aliva and Richard were married in a religious ceremony after 1322.
