Roger de Mowbray II was born in 1254 in Axholme, Lincolnshire or Thirsk, Hovington, Yorkshire.  Roger de Mowbray II's father was Roger de Mowbray Baron Mowbray of Thirsk and his mother was Maud de Beauchamp.  His paternal grandparents were William de Mowbray Baron Axholme and Agnes (Avice) de Albini; his maternal grandparents were William de Beauchamp of Bedford Baron Bedford and Idonea LongespEe.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 43 on November 21st, 1297 in Ghent, Netherlands.

‌Roger de Mowbray II and Rohese (Agnes) were married in a religious ceremony in 1270.  They had two sons named Sir John de Mowbray and Alexander.
