Elias Kelley (Rolan) was born on June 16th, 1858 in Stuart, Guthrie Co, Iowa. Elias Kelley (Rolan)'s father was Joseph Ballard Carey and his mother was Mary Jane Willis. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Carey and Rhoda Ballard; his maternal grandparents were Jesse Willis and Betsy Sumner. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named William H., Jesse Willis, Asa Ballard, David Ballard, Joel, Elwood, Calvin, Betsy and Jane Jeanette. He died at the age of 66 on May 8th, 1925.-
