David Ballard Carey 
David Ballard was born on January 3rd, 1855 in Sandyville, Warren, IA. David Ballard's father was Joseph Ballard Carey and his mother was Mary Jane Willis. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Carey and Rhoda Ballard; his maternal grandparents were Jesse Willis and Betsy Sumner. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named William H., Jesse Willis, Asa Ballard, Elias Kelley (Rolan), Joel, Elwood, Calvin, Betsy and Jane Jeanette. He died at the age of 87 on September 19th, 1942.-
