Maud, known as Matilda, was born in 1228 in Derbyshire,England.1   Matilda's father was William III De Ferriers and her mother was Sibilla Marshall.  Her paternal grandparents were Earl William II (4th) De Ferriers Of Derby and Lady Agnes De Keveliock Of Chartley; her maternal grandparents were Earl William II (The Protector) Marshall Of Pembroke and Countess Isabel De Clare Of Strigoil. She had three sisters named Isabel, Sybil and Eleanor.  She was the second youngest of the four children. She had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Robert, William, Joan and Agnes.  She died at the age of 69 on March 12th, 1297.1

They had a daughter named Cecilia.
