Ruth was born in 1732 in <New Castle,New Castle Co. Delware>. Ruth's father was John II Cox and her mother was Hannah Jenkins. Her paternal grandparents were John I Cox and Rachel Embree Carr. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Benjamin, William, Samuel, John, Sarah, Amy Naomi, Naomi and Hannah B.. She was the second youngest of the nine children. She had three half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Thomas, Jacob, Solomon, Dinah, Rebecca and Mary.General Notes
