Thomas Everett Combest 
Thomas Everett was born on December 27th, 1881 in Portland, Maltnomah County, Oregon.1 Thomas Everett's father was Thomas Riley Combest and his mother was Louisa Ellen Bennett. His paternal grandparents were Wiley Combest and Martha Hammond; his maternal grandparents were Erastus Bennett and Harriet Tuckey. He had five brothers and two sisters, named William Wiley, Ira Arthur, Sidney John, Lloyd Francis, Joseph Alfred, Rena Ellen and Grace Amy. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 77 on May 7th, 1959 in San Bernardino, California.1 General Notes

"Samuel Combest and His Descendants" book
Tom, who never married, was a self-employed carpenter and inventor. He
held a number of patents on minor inventions and, in 1923, was granted a
patent on a potato frying device which was a forerunner of the
present-day French Fryer. Since 1912, Tom has resided in Redlands,
California and later lived in Los Angeles.
Tome died in San Bernardino, California, on 7 May, 1959 and is buried in
Hillside Cemetery, Redlands, California.
