Ira Arthur was born on March 14th, 1877 in La Center, Clark County, Washington Terr..1 Ira Arthur's father was Thomas Riley Combest and his mother was Louisa Ellen Bennett. His paternal grandparents were Wiley Combest and Martha Hammond; his maternal grandparents were Erastus Bennett and Harriet Tuckey. He had five brothers and two sisters, named William Wiley, Sidney John, Thomas Everett, Lloyd Francis, Joseph Alfred, Rena Ellen and Grace Amy. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 65 on April 28th, 1942 in St.Paul, Marion County, Oregon.1 General Notes
