Grace Amy was born on May 19th, 1889 in La Center, Clark County, Washington Terr..1 Grace Amy's father was Thomas Riley Combest and her mother was Louisa Ellen Bennett. Her paternal grandparents were Wiley Combest and Martha Hammond; her maternal grandparents were Erastus Bennett and Harriet Tuckey. She had six brothers and a sister, named William Wiley, Ira Arthur, Sidney John, Thomas Everett, Lloyd Francis, Joseph Alfred and Rena Ellen. She was the third youngest of the eight children. She died at the age of 10 on January 31st, 1900 in Portland, Oregon.1 General Notes

She was a student at the St.Paul Academy in St. Paul, Oregon, and was
seriously injured in an accidental fall down a flight of stairs while
there. The injuries she sustained in the fall resulted in appendicitis,
for which she was hospitalized in Portland, Oregon. She died in Portland
on 31 January, 1900 and is buried in the St. Paul Catholic Cemetery in
St. Paul, Oregon.
