Rena Ellen was born on November 26th, 1886 in La Center, Clark County, Washington Terr..1   Rena Ellen's father was Thomas Riley Combest and her mother was Louisa Ellen Bennett.  Her paternal grandparents were Wiley Combest and Martha Hammond; her maternal grandparents were Erastus Bennett and Harriet Tuckey. She had six brothers and a sister, named William Wiley, Ira Arthur, Sidney John, Thomas Everett, Lloyd Francis, Joseph Alfred and Grace Amy.  She was the fourth youngest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 51 on September 30th, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri (Sunset Burial Park).1
