Adelaide was born on August 5th, 1102 in Winchester, England.1   Adelaide's father was Henry I Beauclerc King of England and her mother was Matilda (Edith) of Scotland.  Her paternal grandparents were William I the Conqueror King of England and Matilda (Maud) de Flanders; her maternal grandparents were Malcolm III Caennmor King of Scots and Margaret the Exile of Wessex. She had three half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Robert de Caen de Mellent, Rainald de Dunstanville, Henry, Elizabeth, Constance, Sibyl and Matilda (Maud).  She died at the age of 67 on September 10th, 1169 in Notre Dame, Rouen, Seine-Maritime, Normandy.  She was buried in Designated Henry I's heir after death of William the Atheling..1 1
