Margaret the Exile of was born in Wessex, England or Hungary.1 Margaret the Exile of's father was Edward the Outlaw Atheling of England and her mother was Agatha von Brunswick. Her paternal grandparents were Edmund II Ironsides King of England and Ealdgyth of Northumbria; her maternal grandparents were Ludolphe von Brunswick Mar de Saxony and Gertrude von Egisheim. She had a sister named Mathilde. She died on November 16th, 1093 in Edinburgh Castle, Midlothian, Scotland. She was buried in Arrived at the court of Edward the Confessor (1057)..1 1 General Notes

Canonised 1250 and her feast day is 16th Novemb er. In 1057 she arrived at
the
English court of Edward the Confessor. Ten ye ars later she was in
exile after
William defeated Harold at the Battle of Ha stings. She fled to
Scotland where
she was married against her wishes to Kin g Malcolm to whom she bore
six sons
and two daughters. Her unlerned and boor ish husband grew daily more
graceful
and Christian under the queen's gracefu l influence.
