His paternal grandparents were William I Longsword Duke of Normandy and Sprota (Adela) de Senlis; his maternal grandfather was Herbastus de Crêpon. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Robert de Evereaux, Ralph de Ivrea, William de Hiesmes, Matilda (Mahaud), Hedwig (Havoise), Beatrice and Emma. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Godfrey and Fredesende. He died at the age of 68 on August 28th, 1026 in Fecamp, S-Infr, France.
