William de Hiesmes' father was Richard I the Fearless Duke of Normandy and his mother was Gunnor de Crêpon. His paternal grandparents were William I Longsword Duke of Normandy and Sprota (Adela) de Senlis; his maternal grandfather was Herbastus de Crêpon. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Richard II le Bon, Robert de Evereaux, Ralph de Ivrea, Matilda (Mahaud), Hedwig (Havoise), Beatrice and Emma. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Godfrey and Fredesende. He died in 1022. He was buried in Count of Heismes & Eu, Lord of Monstreul..1 1 General Notes
